#GivingTuesdayNow is May 5th!

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving on the first Tuesday of December, started to mobilize support and awareness for all of the amazing things nonprofits do! Nonprofits like The Holistic Homestead spend the whole year fundraising, organizing volunteers and events, and directly serving the needs of our communities – but with the massive disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are operating at surge capacity while desperately trying to make up for the lost revenue from cancelled workshops, events and fundraisers.

How we’re serving the community now

Since the outbreak of COIVD-19 in Colorado, we have partnered with the Gilpin Food Bank to provide free food (including over 100 pounds of fresh produce donated); we have assembled and distributed 5 COVID-CARE packs to our volunteers busy making deliveries (including gloves, sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, masks, soap, toilet paper, and gas money); and opened our Market on Wednesdays exclusively for seniors/alternately-abled/immunocompromised folks. We have remained open to serve the community, as the safest and healthiest shopping option for our community, including offering curbside pickup and expanding our delivery options.

How you can help NOW

We urgently need your support to continue our mission of improving health and wellness through education, outreach and advocacy. Here are 3 easy ways you can support your favorite nonprofit on #GivingTuesdayNow:

  1. Purchase a COVID-CARE pack for a frontline worker! Click here to visit our online store, each purchase supports local artisans and local frontline workers, thank you!
  2. Help TWO charities with ONE donation! Click here to make a DIRECT, TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation to The Holistic Homestead and write “earmarked for the Gilpin County Food Bank”. (If the PayPal link doesn’t work, click here to be redirected to our online store, scroll to the bottom to donate.) The Homestead Market will send that amount in fresh produce and other needed supplies like masks, soaps, and pantry items to the Gilpin County Food Bank. We have already donated $150 and over 100 pounds of fresh produce to the food bank this way!
  3. Buy a gift card! Click here to buy a gift card for yourself or a friend, all you need is their email address. When you purchase a $100 or $200 gift card, we are able to invest in growing our inventory, so we can carry more of the grocery items that you want to buy from our local Market. (Gift cards can also be used toward curbside pickup and delivery orders).
  4. Check out our #GivingTuesdayNow campaign on GoFundMe! Read our whole story, share with your contacts, and you can even create your own fundraiser for the Homestead!
