As I research funding opportunities for The Holistic Homestead – financial support for the handful of vital programs and services that we bring to the community such as our Used Durable Medical Equipment lending program, Hands on Health for Kids!, healthy snacks for kids, our Farmers Market, pay what you can cafe, and Community Food Share….sometimes I run across amazing organizations that EVERYONE needs to know about.
Here are three wonderful organizations to bookmark for future reference, or reach out to today if you or someone you know are in need.
AV Hunter Trust “Funds for One”
This program provides funding for seniors and those living with disability to purchase equipment or pay for assistive supportive services or medical related expenses. This foundation serves anyone in Colorado, and The Holistic Homestead would consider sponsoring any application.
Friends of Man
This amazing nonprofit also helps those in need, especially “patients and clients needing mobility equipment, prosthetics, glasses, dentures, hearing aids, and much more!” If you know someone in need, don’t hesitate to reach out to this organization that does such important work for our greater Colorado community.
Canyon Cares of Coal Creek Canyon
This nonprofit is near and dear to my heart, as they have helped me personally when I was down and out, and I know many folks in our community to whom they have provided direct assistance. Their application process is simple and funds can be applied for car repair, medical bills, dental, vision and hearing testing, treatment, and equipment, child care, and mobility/accessibility assistance. We have also worked with Canyon Cares to provide Used Durable Medical Equipment for free to locals in need. Check out their website here: https://canyoncares.org/
